Hana Arts, Inc. is a community-based, 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Hana, Maui, Hawaii. We're devoted to increasing awareness, participation, and appreciation of the arts. We believe that the arts are vital to our lives and have a profound and long lasting impact on everyone, especially children.
Hana Arts provides guided activities for youth and their families to develop skills and experiences which encourage creativity and self expression. Arts and multi-cultural learning opportunities are available to the community and visitors through classes and workshops held throughout the year.

Classes include hula for beginners and advanced students, Hawaiian cultural crafts and excursions, theater and voice training and performance, visual arts and crafts yoga, fire dancing and various workshops in a variety of dance styles, puppetry, mask making, sculpture, ceramics, Taiko drumming, and more.
Hana Arts also provides outreach classes to various other organizations, including the Senior Centers, the Maui Arts & Cultural Center (MACC), Hana Youth Center, and Hana School.
Hana Arts is a collaborative organization. We strive to create partnerships in our community so that we can create meaningful relationships and use our resources wisely. Combining our forces with other entities, including Seabury Hall, Hui No'eau and the Maui Symphony, helps us all to fulfill our mission and develop long lasting programs.
Other partners include Maui Arts & Cultural Center, Aiwana Education, Pacific and Asian Affairs Council, Maui Classical Music Festival, and the University of Hawaii Outreach Services.
The Hana Arts program has been in existence in Hana since 1994, moving from the back porch of an artist playing with her friends' children, to the Hongwanji Temple basement, as classes grew. It was embraced by the Director of the Hana Youth Center, and later by the Hana Cultural Center.
In April 1999, Hana Arts received the non-profit status that has allowed us to continue arts and cultural programming for Hana. Programs and classes have addressed a wide range of subjects revolving around teacher availability and student interest. Hana Arts has a vast repertoire of creative activities held primarily at the Art Barn, a Maui County facility located behind the Hana Community Center.
Hana Arts welcomes locals and visitors alike. Although we primarily cater to the children of our community, we have regular classes and new programs for people of all ages.
